The Vancouver Canucks Booster Club is run by volunteers. Members are encouraged to help out with the various projects we work on throughout the year. Committees range in size from a single member to large groups working together.
The Events coordinator plans social occasions for members including the Christmas party, player dinner, and annual general meeting. Members can help by planning, running or even just attending these events.
The Handouts coordinator works with the Canucks and gets booster club members to work at Canuck events (mostly games). Members who want to help out with handouts must first purchase an official booster club sweatshirt and agree to a list of conduct guidelines.
The Newsletter editor takes articles from various members, proofreads them, formats them, and publishes our newsletter. Two Points is sent to all club members, other booster clubs and select members of the Canucks front office and local media. Members are encouraged to write articles or just drop the club a note from time to time.
The Trips coordinator plans trips to see the Canucks play in other cities. There is nothing quite like cheering for the Canucks in a opposition arena. Members (and non-members) are encouraged to join us as we cheer the Canucks to victory.
Every August, NHL fans from across North America meet in one city for a convention. Booster club members are encouraged to attend this fun event. One member from each club is asked to organize payments and registrations.
The booster club also has a Sunshine coordinator who sends greeting cards to the Canucks at appropriate times (welcome, get well, good-bye, etc.). We also have a Promotion coordinator who develops interesting and unique ways of promoting the booster club. |
